*Q - What is the meaning of "1.0" and "1.5", and what is the difference?
*A - 1.0 and 1.5 are subtitles for two different versions of the U-noa girls. U-noa 1.0 is the earlier and first version released, back in 2003. When Araki released the boys in 2005, he'd made some improvements on the jointing and movement systems. He then upgraded the U-noa girls and renovated them to match the boys and dubbed the upgraded version "1.5" The differences between 1.0 and 1.5 are a new double elbow joint, ridges in the shoulder and neck joints to make holding poses easier, taps on the backs of the thigh pieces for holding sitting position, and an added back-piece to improve the look and movement of the torso and it's jointing. The 1.5 resin is a little peachier than the 1.0.

*Q - How can I tell the faces apart?
*A - The four personas of the U-noa are two girls; Lusis and Sist, and two boys; L-bi and B-el.

Lusis
Image
Her expression is soft and rather childlike or girly, lips are slightly parted and her eyes are droopy
-
Sist
Image
She is the more tomboyish one of the girls. Her eyes slant upwards and her mouth is closed, giving her a more tough expression
=
L-bi
Image
He is Lusis's counterpart, with the more feminine face, slightly parted lips and droopy eyes
-
B-el
Image
Eyes slanted upwards and mouth closed, he is similar to Sist.

*Q - What size of eyes/wigs do they use?
*A - The most compatible eye-size is 12mm, but they can take 10mm (depending on the make) and 14mm as well. The wig size is 6.5"/ #6-7. This size is often categorized as "Yo-SD" size by sales-companies.

*Q - What clothes/shoes can they wear?
*A - U-noas will mostly need tailored outfits, because they are so much slimmer than other dolls of the same height. They are able to wear "MSD" or "mini" size clothing, but the fit is hit and miss, depending on the cut of the garment. They are however very compatible with the shoes for the same size ("MSD/Mini"). Unoas are also able to wear clothing intended for other types of 16" dolls, examples being Tonner Tyler, Ellowyne Wilde etc, though some styles may not fit perfectly.

*Q - Kits? Why do they need assembling? What supplies are needed to put them together?
*A - From the beginning of their being sold to the general market, they have come as uncompleted/unassembled/unpainted kits. When Araki made them available he was mostly working on his own, and having the buyers assemble paint their own kits took a lot of the pressure off him. This might also be a result of Araki's past where he was mostly sculpting and making of resin figure-kits, and he's been steadily assimilating that interest of his into the doll hobby. After AL became a bigger company they still sell the kits uncompleted, wether it's out of habit or necessity I don't know.

Things you are going to need to finish your kit:
- Elastic to string the doll (provided with the kit from the company)
- A ~1" long metal bar to fasten the head to the torso and hold the strings in place (also provided)
- A piece of wire (or pipecleaner) to use when stringing (also provided)
- Soap (scent- and colorless if possible), a supply of warm water. An old toothbrush might also come in handy for this stage
- A sharp hobby- or carving knife
- sandpaper, grits ranging from 600-2000
- Face-mask (resin-dust is harmful to your lungs!)

Also included with your spanking brand new kit you will get an assembly-instructions sheet, a fur wig and a pair of eyes + eyemech.

*Q - What is this eye mechanism and how does it work?
*A - The eye mech is an extra resin cast piece that comes with your kit. When inserted and with the right kind of eyes, you will be able to move your dolls eyes without opening her head! The eyes are fastened to the faceplate with two metal bars (that are provided with the kit) that go through the middle of the eyes. The eyemech then has a hold of the "tails" of the eyes in the two niches, and the very ends of the mech will stand out a little bit on each side. These nibs you'll then press inside the head to move the eyes in that direction.

*Q - What is the general price for a U-noa?
*A - U-noas are priced at ¥39.900 which converts to about $450. This may vary with exchange-rate fluctuations. Also make note that for us international customers, we will have to pay additionally for shipping and when ordering through a deputy; fees will be added (this can reach up to an extra $100 or more!! :usashok: )
